About therapy
What is somato-emotional therapy?
Somato-emotional therapy is an approach that considers the body to retain physiological and emotional imprints of lived experiences. It combines a heightened awareness of the body, verbal tools, and neurophysiological processes to release tension, stress, chronic pain, and traumatic memories. It does not replace medicine, but complements it by supporting the body's natural regulatory and healing processes.
Is this approach scientific?
Yes. It is based on several recognized pillars: • neurophysiology of pain (IASP, 2020) • role of the autonomic nervous system in emotional regulation • body memory and neuronal plasticity • mind-body connection recognized by the WHO The approach remains gentle, humanistic, and non-invasive, while being solidly scientifically proven.
Session Procedure
How does a session unfold?
Each session begins with a discussion to understand your current physical and emotional state and your needs. Then: • In person, the work is done through gentle and precise therapeutic touch, allowing us to assess tension, tissue rhythms, areas of blockage, and to progressively release the structures involved. • Online, we use hypnoresonance and a guided exploration of the body and sensations to access the same integration and regulatory mechanisms. A session lasts between 1 and 1.5 hours.
How do I know if I need this type of therapy?
You can consult a therapist if you experience: • persistent or recurring pain • chronic fatigue, overload, or stress • anxiety, hypersensitivity, irritability • emotional difficulties or periods of transition (fertility treatment, pregnancy, postpartum, moving, etc.) • sleep, digestive, or breathing problems • physical repercussions of past events (trauma, grief, emotional shock) • physical blockages that you can't seem to release Or simply if you have a feeling that "something is going on" in your body.
Is video conferencing really effective?
Yes, for many people, it's even more powerful. Video resonance allows for very rapid access to internal resources, deep exploration of sensations, and progress at one's own pace. It's effective for: • emotions, stress, anxiety • chronic pain • post-traumatic stress • preparation for pregnancy or assisted reproductive technology (ART) • unexplained symptoms • hypersensitivity
Do I need to prepare before a session?
Not necessarily. You simply need to: • wear comfortable clothing • find a quiet space • be open to the experience, without any particular expectations For video calls: you may want to have headphones/earbuds and a stable internet connection.
Scope
What issues can we work on together?
Here are the most common areas: • Chronic pain (back, neck, migraines, knee, etc.) • Pain related to stress or mental overload • Anxiety, hypersensitivity, emotional exhaustion • Sleep disorders • Digestive problems and abdominal tension • Post-sprain, fall, or physical trauma • Grief, separation, or emotional shock • Trauma (physical/emotional) • Women's health support: menstrual cycle, chronic pain, endometriosis, adenomyosis, PCOS, assisted reproductive technology (ART), pregnancy, postpartum, menopause • Feelings of being stuck or loss of confidence
Monitoring and results
How many sessions are needed?
Everyone progresses differently, but generally: • One session can already bring relief or awareness. • Three to five sessions allow for deeper work. • Occasional follow-up can be helpful during more intense periods in life. There is no obligation: your body decides.
Do the results last?
Yes, because the body learns to regulate itself sustainably. The therapy works on: • body memory and pain relief • the autonomic nervous system • emotional integration • danger perception and inner security This creates lasting change, not just a temporary feeling of well-being.
Framework & practices
Is this alternative medicine?
No. It's a complementary, non-medical approach that doesn't replace a medical diagnosis or treatment. It works on the body's internal regulatory and perception mechanisms and integrates perfectly into a multidisciplinary approach.
Is it suitable during pregnancy?
Yes, it's particularly helpful for: • managing stress and fears • emotional preparation for childbirth • relieving physical tension • support during fertility treatment or postpartum The techniques are gentle, non-invasive, and fully respect your pace and needs.
Is it suitable for highly rational or skeptical people?
Absolutely. The approach is based on physiology, perception, the nervous system, and adaptation mechanisms. No beliefs are required, just a little curiosity.
